Dermaplaning
Manual exfoliation with a surgical blade — surface dead skin and fine vellus hair removed in one pass.
By appointment · North Scottsdale

The simplest treatment in the studio, and the one with the most immediate difference.
Nothing penetrates, nothing needs to heal. Skin is smoother the moment you leave, makeup sits flat, and products absorb better for the next two weeks.
What it is
A sterile blade is drawn across taut skin at a shallow angle, lifting away dead surface cells and the fine downy hair that catches light and holds makeup.
Often used to prepare skin before a peel, and frequently added to a facial rather than booked alone.
What it can address
Benefits
Immediate
The difference is visible and tactile before you leave the room.
No downtime
Slight pinkness at most. Suitable the day before an event.
Better absorption
Serums reach skin instead of a layer of dead cells.
Pairs well
Commonly combined with a facial or used to prep for a peel.

The appointment
Cleanse and dry
Skin is fully cleansed and dried — the blade needs a dry surface.
Passes
Short, controlled strokes across each zone with the skin held taut. Fifteen to twenty minutes.
Finish
Hydrating serum, mask if included, and sunscreen.
Marina does not treat dermaplaning as a luxury add-on to upsell. It is a practical exfoliation step, and she will say when your skin does not need it.

No. Vellus hair grows back at the same texture it was — cutting it does not change the follicle.
