Short answer. Most areas need six to ten sessions, spaced four to five weeks apart on the face and six to eight weeks apart on the body. Coarse body hair usually clears in fewer sessions than fine facial hair.
The most common question in the studio is some version of “how long until I am done?” The honest answer depends on the area, your hair and how consistently you come in — but the range is narrower than most people expect.
Why does it take more than one session?
Laser energy is absorbed by pigment in the hair and converted to heat, which affects the follicle. That only works while a hair is actively growing and still attached. At any given moment only a portion of the hair in an area is in that phase, so each session treats a portion of the total.
Sessions are spaced to catch the next group as it enters growth. Coming in too early wastes a session on hair that is not there yet; leaving it too long lets treated follicles cycle back.
A series is not upselling. It is the only way the biology allows the treatment to work.
How many sessions by area?
Coarser hair on the body tends to respond in fewer sessions than fine facial hair. Hormonally influenced areas — chin, jaw, neck — usually need the most.
What should you do between sessions?
Is it permanent?
This is hair reduction, not guaranteed permanent removal. Most clients finish a series with substantially less hair that grows back finer, then come once or twice a year to hold it there. Hormonal changes can reactivate follicles, particularly on the face — that is biology, not a failed treatment.

Can I stop halfway through a series?
You keep the reduction you have achieved, but the remaining hair continues in its own cycle. Most people who stop early come back to finish.
Why are face and body spaced differently?
Facial hair cycles faster, so shorter intervals catch more hair in the growth phase.
Does it hurt?
Most clients describe a hot snap with cooling immediately after. Underarms and bikini are the most sensitive; legs and face are generally easy.
How soon will I see a difference?
Usually after the second or third session. Treated hairs shed over one to three weeks, so the area thins gradually rather than all at once.
